Day 19: Polson to Kalispell, MT. 50 miles

The ride today put us at 892 total miles.  The last 10 miles were a separate bike path, which we really appreciate.  When it ended though there were no directional signs so w had no idea which way to go.

We visited a bike shop here and got some new reinforcements for our bicycle seats. Since saddle soreness is our biggest problem we thought it a good investment.

The ride today was not easy.  We road along the east side of Fathead Lake.  The storm that was predicted has still not reached us.  The news says it is coming from Oregon.

We are staying at the Kalispell Grand Hotel.  it is celebrating 100 years of operation.  We chose it so we could walk to dinner, etc. since it is the only hotel in the old town.

Tomorrow we should reach West Glacier.  From there we cross the Rockies and the continental divide.

Saddle sore, eh? Is it my imagination or is Ron growing a beard (and beginning to look like a cowpoke?!) Wow!! Almost 900 miles--what an accomplishment! Keep up the good ridin'

Do they have temperpedic for bicycle seats? :) You two are looking good! Dean says "he is keeping you in his heart and prayers." Can't wait to read the next installment!

So, did Ron buy the cowboy boots and ship them home? We'll see if he is wearing them at the next pizza feed!

Can't wait to hear the story behind the cowgirl sign and the boots. Isn't it interesting when you experience the small towns across the country and how diverse we are from each others.
