Day 26: Havre to Malta, MT. 91 miles

Yes, we rang the bell 9 times today.  We planned to ride 70 miles today. But when we reached the destination there was not much there so we decided to come to a larger town about 20 miles further.  I do not think we  will repeat this milage again. The weather was perfect with a slight tailwind.

We had a fun coffeebreak about 20 miles into our day. We stopped at a small cafe. There were two elderly men sitting at a table who had lots of questions about our trip.  One of the men was 94 yrs old. We chatted with them and then had our coffee, latte, etc. The waitress came and told us our bill had been paid by the men.  We thanked them and gave them our travel cards with our picture and blog info. The were excited to get them and had me autograph it.  The waitress said they will talk about that a long time. So will we.  I have included a picture of our new friends in this blog. This is a good example of what makes this trip fun!

We are staying at the city park. We are being entertained by little league baseball games.

Tomorrow our destination is Glascow, about 70 miles. We have only a few more days biking in Montana.

Wow ringing the bell 9 times must have disturbed the countryside! That is really an accomplishment to add to your list of successes with this trip. I want a travel card when you return, autographed too!
