Remember the picture of our tent yesterday in the city park? We had chosen a plush green grass area. But what we did not know was there was a sprinkler head that popped up on a timer set for 11:45 pm last night. There was a high pressure of water directly on our tent. We have a good tent but there are limits to everything. After a few minutes of discussion we put our shoes on (when you sleep in a public park you sleep in clothes) and hurried out and moved everything. After we waited to be sure that area was not on the next cycle we crawled back into our wet tent and wet sleeping bags. Amazingly we both went back to sleep until almost 6 am.
We knew our ride today was long for us, but 20 miles shorter than yesterday. It was hot (in the 80s), lots of rolling hills and lots of mosquitos. We were told last night at the little league game that one of the communities is in the top world ranking for mosqito problem. If we use our repellant they are not too bad when we are riding, but when we stop even briefly. . .watch out! Sharon had a slow leak in her back tire. Ron pumped it up twice so he could delay changing it until we could do it Indoors.
One of the pictures is a wall decoration where we had lunch. Ron said it looks like they are using roadkill!
So after our bad camping night we are back in a hotel for tonight. We had to do laundry including drying our sleeping bags, etc.
Ron had been talking to a man here about fishing. They catch alot of Walleye fish. So tonight for dinner tried Walleye. It was tasty.
We have now gone over 1300 miles. We have biker suntans.
Our route has been following Hwy 2 but we will soon go about 100 miles south to avoid the congestion in North Dakota oil driIling area aound Williston, ND.

A day without your blog update is like a day without sunshine! We are enjoying your photos and stories of the characters you meet along the way. Sending love and prayers..Dean and Nancy
I agree with Dean and Nancy, love reading your blog every day though with the end of school, job changes and graduation I have fallen behind with comments. Again beautiful country you are riding through. Love the elegance of that bench outside the Pay and Save! LOL your tent story is one I am glad you can laugh at. I am not sure I would. Never to old to learn how to be wiser in your choices of where you sleep I guess.
