Day 34: Richardton to Mandan, North Dakota. 74 miles.

Today was a long but pleasant ride.  We had alot of rolling hills. We had favorable winds until in the afternoon they shifted to more headwind.

We had cool weather with threatening rain. It waited until we were checked into our motel and now it is dumping!

We had lunch in New Salem. . .home of"Salem Sue".  She  is a holstein cow statute 38 feet tall and 50 feet long and visible for miles. At lunch some farmers near us we're talking. They said "The crops look good.  We are past the threat of frost, and now only have to worry about hail". Farming is the main event here. The fields go on forever.

We are in a new time zone now.  We are two hours ahead of west coast.

Our goal tomorrow is Napoleon, ND.

How were the fried steaks the other night?

Angela and I went to a new pizza place with a wood-fire oven, pizza was good, but not as good as yours. Did reminded us of you guys though.

Good Morning!
Thoughts are with you and your cadence across the plains today. Big sky country. Rattlers. Head winds.

I been to Big Sue! Stood right under that utter! I hope you swing into Bismark to see the capitol. It is truly one of the most unusual in the states. We went to the top for the view a few years back. Mesquites were thick in the grass and Mark was doing a Irish jig that we laugh about to this day.

So glad to hear of God's hand in landing you inside before the rains came. They don't drizzle down like here in Oregon when it rains there is rains!

If only you had a radio on your bike you could listen to the commodities report in that area. Big time news for the radio stations in those parts.

Love the train photo. I hope you got one of Sue too!

May God's hand be on you with safe travel and goo TAILWINDS ...on to Napoleon!
