Day 38: Enderlin to Fargo, North Dakota. 58 miles.

I did not charge my device last night so we did not take many pictures.  We thought our ride today was a little over 40 miles but we miscalculated and had a longer ride than expected. We arrived at about 2 pm and stopped at the Great Northern Bicycle shop. It is a huge bicycle shop in an old train depot.  For bicyclists going west it is the last bike shop for many 100s of miles, none in North Dakota and few in Montana.  We will be needing new tires soon so we are now carrying two spare tires (in addition to many tubes). The bike shop says we are at least halfway.  (Our mileage is over 1900).

We are staying at the the Howard Johnson Hotel in downtown Fargo.  We will stay two nights, taking a rest day tomorrow.  We are literally across town now from Minnesota.

If you ride through Fergus Falls MN that is my dad's home town. We visited there a few years ago to see where he grew up and visit the graves of my grandparents. My heart has a special place for MN! If you thought you have seen lakes before don't stop to take pictures of each one you see from now on or your won't get anywhere. We were reminded of that in March when we were in MN checking out a college for Aaron (outside Minn)

Are you keeping a tube count? Might be an interesting fact in the end.Save a piece of the tires you rode on so far as a memento of the first leg of your journey.

How very rewarding to be half-way! If I recall you are just over month out too. Things will started getting closer soon too and you will be moving quickly from one state to another...no more Big Sky country that goes on forever!!!

Don't know how far off the interstate you are without looking but they have a great rest stop right at the boarder too.
